Meet: Charlotte Hadden

Meet: Charlotte Hadden

Meet Charlotte - our sister / daughter and photographer. Since graduating from university with a degree in Photography and an obsession with portraiture she has worked as a freelance photographer for COS, Mr Porter, Vogue and Telegraph Magazine, just to name few.

Just like the rest of our family, Charlotte shares an interest in natural light, muted tones and simplicity, and we are very lucky to have her work on many of our shoots alongside sisters / daughters Emily and Jessica.

Where did your journey as a photographer begin?

I was always obsessed with images of people from a very young age, and after my grandmother gave me her camera when I was 16, thats when I started to explore photography, mainly portraiture. It felt natural to then go on and study the subject, shooting professionally when I graduated.

What do you try and portray in your work?

I’m most happy with my work when I can capture a feeling or moment, its hard to really plan for that so I try and keep it spontaneous and work around the subject i’m photographing.

What has been your most favourite job so far?

I think it has to be a fashion story I did for Jalouse a few years back, with one of my favourite models Lorna Foran. It was the first time I was hired to shoot a lengthy fashion editorial and it was one of those shoots that felt really natural and easy. It also opened up many doors for me, and I see that as the start of my fashion career.

What is it about Alfie Douglas that stands out from other bag brands?

Its attention to simplicity and practicality without the flashy branding. I feel the star of the product is in the materials used and having that at the forefront shows that they really care about producing bags that will last a lifetime
