Derived from the Japanese word 'ORU' meaning 'FOLD', and inspired by the ancient Japanese art of origami, each case is made from a single piece of leather which is folded and interlocked by hand to form a strong, super-light, protective structure.
The process completely eliminates the need for any sewing and significantly reduces production costs and enables us to take advantage of the same premium quality leathers used by luxury brands and pass them on at a significantly lower cost.
Supplied with leather thong (except OPTICAL CASE) which can be trimmed to size, each case is designed to be worn in multiple ways or in conjunction with a belt.
There is only one tannery that can produce this particular leather needed to make our cases and the 120 year old family-run tannery still employs the slow traditional process using water infused with organic botanical extracts from Mimosa, Québracho and Chestnut barks. This creates a beautiful, strong durable leather that lasts a lifetime of use and gets better with age.
Our rich colours are achieved by immersing each hide in natural dyes for several days to completely penetrate the leather.
The production process is carefully controlled and regulated and conforms to the highest European environmental standards. All packaging materials contain recycled materials and are 100% recyclable.
Our customers live all across the globe, so we can ship to anywhere with a letterbox. We usually dispatch orders within 2 working days. For more information please message us mail@human-hand-com.
